But McDonalds isn’t healthy?

McDonald’s is ‘bad’ for you?right?

We live in a generation where people see foods as ‘good’ and ‘bad’. McDonald’s is often seen as a ‘bad’ food as it is can be high in calories and saturated fat.

I am a Dietitian, I have been learning about food and health for over 10 years and YES I am sat here eating McDonald’s and YES I know it contains saturated fat and calories but does that really matter? I LOVE a Big Mac, we should not feel guilty for eating foods which we enjoy.

McDonald’s is not a ‘bad’ food, there is no such thing as ‘good’ and bad’ foods. This type of thinking and labelling of foods will often lead to an increased likelihood of failing to stick to ‘healthy eating’ and overeating foods which are labelled as ‘bad’.

One dinner at McDonald’s won’t make you gain weight. It’s all about balance McDonald’s is ok to be part of a balanced diet it’s all about moderation.

For anyone who’s started another diet this week and feeling deflated by no weight loss. The answer is simple there is no answer to dieting, you just need to look at losing weight from a different angle. You should be able to live a life where food has no control over you, eating healthier is about developing a healthy relationship with food. Try and start a fresh this week, try and stop dieting.
